Introducing Equitable Wilmington & Understanding CDFIs

Equitable Wilmington is excited to announce the launch of our new website – www.equitablewilmington.org. and invite you to the first of our virtual workshops – an introduction to Equitable Wilmington and Community Development Financial Institutions.

The goal of the Equitable Wilmington Collaborative is to foster social equity by providing community solutions, access to capital, and resources to allow all Wilmington neighborhoods to thrive. The collaborative is comprised of three local mission-driven lenders dedicated to fostering small business growth; developing safe, affordable homes; and supporting essential community facilities in the neighborhoods surrounding Wilmington’s Central Business District.

Join us for a virtual workshop to learn about your Delaware Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and what kind of deals they are looking to finance!

Who are we? NCALL, Cinnaire and True Access Capital are members of Equitable Wilmington, a collaborative of CDFIs supporting equitable development in Wilmington’s neighborhoods through the JPMorgan Chase PRO neighborhoods grant.

What will we be discussing? They will introduce what is Equitable Wilmington, what is equitable development and what their own CDFIs will offer. They will also I’ve some examples of the kinds of deals they are open to financing and what they expect from potential borrowers. You’ll hear directly from Dionna Sargent (Cinnaire), Karen Kollias (NCALL), and David Ortiz (True Access Capital) who will share more about their work and how to access their services and products.

This is the first workshop in a series of Equitable Wilmington Workshops that provide technical assistance to those in Wilmington who engage in equitable development that will be offered through 2021.

Who should attend? Community-based organizations, community development corporations, individuals interested in developing properties, individuals interested in starting or growing their business.
